QGC starts 2010 CSG program

QUEENSLAND Gas Company has kicked off its 2010 Walloon Coal Measures coal seam gas campaign in PL 171 of the Surat Basin with the drilling of the Paradise Downs-3 well.

Paradise Downs-3 was drilled to a total depth of 506m and is carrying out open-hole drill stem tests over the Walloon Coal Measures.

The well is the first to be drilled by QGC in PL 171 and will be followed by an exploration, coring and appraisal drilling program of up to 12 wells over the next 12 months.

The drilling program is planned to continue to evaluate the CSG potential and deliverability of the Walloon coals.

VicPet holds a 30% interest in ATP 574P while QGC holds 60%.
