New drilling contractor for CSG sector

DIVERSIFIED drilling contractor Every Day Mine Services has entered into the coal seam gas drilling market with a contract to drill CSG wells for private company Apollo Gas.

Under the contract, EDMS’ newly formed subsidiary Australian Gas Drilling will use a LF230 rig to drill a number of wells in Apollo’s New South Wales acreage.

Apollo owns seven CSG permits in NSW covering 24,000 square kilometres via its 100%-owned subsidiary Macquarie Energy.

The tenements cover prospective CSG targets in and around Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Gunnedah and Sydney. They are also close to existing and planned gas transmission pipelines and gas-fired power stations.

Last month, CSG player Arrow Energy made a strategic seed capital investment in Apollo, acquiring a 21% shareholding interest for $4.5 million, and entered into a farm-in agreement for two CSG permits.

The private company is expected to launch an initial public offering and list on the Australian Securities Exchange within the next three months

EDMS is headquartered in NSW and has four subsidiaries which service the mining and energy sectors in NSW and Queensland.
